High-profile PLM expert takes over management of the Italian subsidiary

Bremen/Carrara, 27 January 2011 – As part of its expansion strategy, CONTACT Software GmbH has set up an Italian subsidiary with headquarters in Carrara (Massa). A major part of the production industry is located here in Northern Italy, in particular, companies of the automotive and mechanical industries sector. "By establishing the subsidiary, we plan to strengthen the business relationships with our existing customers in Italy and, of course, to extend our customer base," says Karl Heinz Zachries, the managing director of CONTACT Software GmbH, explaining his plans for CONTACT Software Italia S.r.l. The new company will be headed by Dr. Silvio Giancaspro whose profound practical knowledge in product lifecycle management (PLM) will be a great asset in his new duties.

Dr. Giancaspro (44), who has a doctorate in business administration, has many years of consulting and management experience in the IT business. In his career, Dr. Giancaspro worked with the IT service provider GfD Italia, a subsidiary of the OBI Group, the IBM subsidiary SAP Italia Consulting, and Ferrero in Frankfurt am Main where he was the head of application development for the management service and business intelligence areas. Dr. Giancaspro's last position was as CIO of the Italian caravan maker Laika of the Hymer Group. According to Dr. Giancaspro, the Italian market offers great market potential in product lifecycle management: “With our first-class PDM/PLM solutions, I see an excellent potential for CONTACT Italia."
