CIM DATABASE EPLAN interface certified

CIM DATABASE integration supports project administration and BOMs

Bremen, 12th December 2007 – CONTACT Software GmbH has had its current CIM DATABASE EPLAN Electric P8 interface certified by the CAE software developer. Companies utilizing EPLAN Electric P8 for electrical engineering purposes, thus command over a powerful tool for management and audit-proof storage of EPLAN projects and electro-technical BOMs, integrated in the company-wide PDM data hub. The new link was first introduced to customers and partners at the 2007 year end CIM DATABASE User Meeting and is now available to all.

In analogy to CIM DATABASE's interface with prior version EPLAN 5, the new link again sports a powerful BOM module. Amongst its features the automated extraction of (quantitative) BOMs, multi-level application references and the graphic depiction of the product structure within CIM DATABASE deserve special mention. Project administration too, is extensively supported by this P8 integration; e.g. by freely definable workflows and handling blocks, version detection and automated updating, or the extraction of multilingual PDF formats. The PDM functions are – as with all CAx interfaces by CONTACT- directly embedded in the authoring systems' desktop to enable users their standard working procedures.
