New CIM DATABASE version supports MS SQL Server 2005

With version 2.9.6 of its PDM/PLM solution CIM DATABASE CONTACT now offers companies the possibility to use Microsoft SQL Server 2005 as a product data base. Thus, CONTACT serves the increasing demand from companies already using the solution for several windows applications and wanted to run it as a data base system for their product data. “Instead of investing in a new platform and administrative know-how, we want to offer new customers the option to use their already installed SQL server for PDM/PLM applications.” says Frank Patz, Director Software Development at CONTACT. Besides the SQL server, CIM DATABASE currently works with Oracle, Informix or as a single-user solution with an embedded data base.
