Yacht construction: CIM DATABASE at MTU Friedrichshafen
With its powerful motors MTU Friedrichshafen is a worldwide renown shipbuilding supplier. Since 1995 a customer of CONTACT, the company has constantly expanded its Engineering and Product Data Management applications. Today, CIM DATABASE is the central technical platform for document and knowledge management and is also used for project management and controlling in the context of the currently developed motor line 1600. For this new product MTU has defined the complete product lifecycle from the idea over construction to discontinuity – supported, controlled and quality assured by CIM DATABASE.
